Scope of Work
This is a panel appointment for services required on an “as and when” basis until 30 June 2029. The services are divided into two categories:
- Medical Surveillance: Includes baseline, periodic, exit, and pre-employment medicals, fitness-to-work assessments, chest X-rays, biological monitoring, and drug testing.
- Health Risk Management: Includes multidisciplinary incapacity management, health risk assessments, and support for medical boarding processes.
Technical Requirements
The required resources include office space within Ekurhuleni with consultation rooms of at least 20m², fully equipped mobile clinics, and specialised assessment tools for audiometry, spirometry, and vision screening. The service provider must have a licensed record management system.
Staffing Requirements
Qualified professionals are required, including Occupational Medical Practitioners with MBCHB and a Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Health Nurses, and Administrators.

Evaluation Criteria
The 80/20 preference point system applies. The bid may be awarded to a maximum of 6 bidders, with 3 per programme. Bidders must demonstrate financial ability of at least R300,000 (Category 1) or R500,000 (Category 2).
