The Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) has issued Request for Quotation RFQ 10524 for the provision of pest control services at George Airport for a period of 12 months. This critical facilities management contract targets accredited pest control operators to maintain stringent hygiene and safety standards across the airport’s landside and airside infrastructure.

Scope of Works and Infrastructure Coverage

The appointed service provider will be responsible for monthly pest control services across all buildings and infrastructure at George Airport. ACSA manages a network of airports that must comply with stringent safety and security regulations as National Key Points.

Key deliverables include:

  • Monthly Services: Treatment of 229 bait stations, infestation control, and fumigation activities in all ACSA offices.
  • Covered Pests: Rodents, cockroaches, bed bugs, flying insects, fleas, and birds.
  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Plan: Submission of an IPM plan with the proposal, including labels, safety data sheets, and site-specific solutions.
  • Compliance: Activities must comply with the OHS Act 85 of 1993, SANS 10133:2011, SANS 10049:2012, and the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act 54 of 1972.
  • Callouts and Repairs: A provision of R50,000 for unknown services, with a markup of 10% on spares.
  • Access Permit: A provision of R20,000 for permit requirements (Training and permits).

Electronic Submission and Attachment Rules

ACSA mandates that all quotation documents be submitted electronically via email to AcsaRfq@airports.co.za. Bidders must strictly adhere to file size limitations by breaking their submission into at least four separate attachments, each not exceeding 4MB, to ensure successful processing by the procurement system.

Mandatory Compliance and Security Vetting

As George Airport is a National Key Point, the successful bidder and their personnel may be subjected to strict security vetting. Furthermore, the service provider must compile a comprehensive safety file as outlined in the tender annexures and demonstrate proven experience in aviation or large-scale facility pest management.

  • Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement

Supporting Certificates and Proof:

  • Full CSD Report (proof of registration on Central Supplier Database)
  • Valid SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN
  • BEE Certificate and Scorecard or BBBEE QSE/EME Affidavit
  • Certificate of Incorporation of the bidding entity showing ownership split
  • Completed VAT Questionnaire
  • Reference letters for previous experience in pest control services
