Tender Overview

SAFCOL requires a service provider to transport pine sawlogs from Thate Vondo Plantation to external clients. The contract is volume-based with a lead distance of up to 70 kilometres, covering shorthaul, direct-to-mill, longhaul, and handling operations. Successful bidders must demonstrate immediate equipment availability upon award.

Mandatory Equipment Requirements

Bidders must prove ownership or valid lease agreements for:

  • Minimum three 6×4 or 6×6 rigid logger-body truck tractors with two or three-axle logger trailers

  • Valid ENATIS RC1/LCO documentation or certified proof of purchase for all equipment

  • Fully completed and signed RFQ on company letterhead
  • Valid Tax Compliance Status PIN or certificate
  • SANAS-accredited B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit for EME/QSE
  • Central Supplier Database (CSD) report or MAAA registration number
  • Certified ID copies of all company directors

Evaluation Criteria

Proposals undergo three-phase evaluation: administrative compliance, mandatory equipment verification, and price plus specific goals assessment. The 80/20 preferential procurement system applies, with 20 points allocated to specific goals including 51% black ownership and 51% black women ownership criteria.
