This Request for Bid (SS 10 OF 2026 – SECTION 1) targets established road safety equipment providers capable of delivering SANS-compliant signage to support municipal traffic management and road safety initiatives in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.

Product Specifications and Standards

All road traffic signs must comply with South African National Standards (SANS) 1186 and relevant Department of Transport specifications. Bidders must demonstrate capability to produce:

  • Regulatory signs (speed limits, no entry, stop signs)
  • Warning signs (curve warnings, pedestrian crossings)
  • Informational and directional signage
  • Reflective sheeting meeting SANS 1186 Class 1 or Class 2 requirements
  • Durable substrates suitable for outdoor installation in varied weather conditions

  • Valid registration on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD)
  • Proof of tax compliance status via SARS-issued PIN or certificate

  • Evidence of previous experience in road signage manufacturing or supply

Completed bid documents must be deposited in the designated tender box at Msunduzi Local Municipality offices by 12:00 on Wednesday, 06 May 2026.
