Transnet SOC Ltd has issued an open Request for Bid under reference number TP/2026/01/0011/893/RFQ for the provision of preventative, corrective, emergency, and ad hoc maintenance services across its buildings, wet services, electrical, and mechanical assets in the Northern Region (Gauteng Province, Tshwane). The contract will run for six (6) months on an “as and when required” basis, with work executed through task orders as needed. Submissions must be completed online via the Transnet Digital Procurement System (TDPS) by 02:00 on Monday, 9 February 2026.

This is a strategic opportunity for qualified contractors to support critical national infrastructure operations.

Scope of Work: Multi-Disciplinary Asset Maintenance

The successful service provider will deliver responsive maintenance across four key domains:

  • Buildings: Structural repairs, roofing, glazing, doors, windows, and finishes
  • Wet Services: Plumbing, water reticulation, sewer systems, and sanitation
  • Electrical: Lighting, switchgear, distribution boards, and power systems
  • Mechanical: HVAC, lifts, fire suppression, and ventilation systems

Services include routine inspections, urgent call-outs, minor new works, and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Municipal By-Laws.

Mandatory Technical and Compliance Requirements

Bidders must meet stringent eligibility criteria:

  • Valid CIDB registration at Grade 3GB or higher
  • Valid Trade Test/Red Seal certificates for Plumbing, Electrical, and HVAC Artisans
  • Proof of registration as an Electrical Contractor with the Department of Labour
  • COIDA Letter of Good Standing
  • Two years of audited financial statements
  • Valid Tax Clearance Certificate or SARS Tax Compliance PIN
  • SANAS-accredited B-BBEE Certificate or sworn affidavit

Joint ventures must ensure all partners meet these requirements individually.

Evaluation Process: Functionality and 80/20 Preference System

Proposals will be evaluated in two stages:

  1. Functionality Assessment: Based on technical capacity, staffing, equipment, and past performance in similar infrastructure maintenance
  2. 80/20 Preferential Procurement Scoring:
    • 80 points: Price (lowest compliant = 80)
    • 20 points: Specific Goals (Black, women, youth, disability, military veteran ownership, and SMME status)

Only bidders who pass all mandatory checks will proceed to scoring.
