Air Chefs SOC Ltd has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under reference number RFQ-003-2025-017 for the appointment of a qualified service provider to deliver comprehensive building maintenance services across its operational facilities in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban. The scope includes preventive, corrective, and general maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems to ensure safe, hygienic, and fully functional work environments. A compulsory briefing session will be held on Friday, 16 January 2026 at 10:00, with attendance required at all three sites or via coordinated virtual participation.

Scope of Work: Integrated Facility Maintenance Across Three Airports

The successful contractor will provide ongoing maintenance support at:

  • Johannesburg: No 20 Jones, Jet Park, Boksburg (OR Tambo International Airport vicinity)
  • Cape Town: Foxtrot 3, Tower Road, Thunder City (Cape Town International Airport)
  • Durban: 10/11 Dube Trade House, La Mercy (King Shaka International Airport)

Services include:

  • Electrical system inspections, repairs, and compliance testing
  • Plumbing maintenance, leak detection, and fixture replacement
  • HVAC servicing and ice maker machine support
  • General building upkeep, including doors, windows, lighting, and safety equipment
  • Monthly reporting, repair logs, and photographic evidence of completed work

All personnel must be qualified, certified, and equipped with appropriate PPE.

Mandatory Qualifications and Compliance Requirements

Bidders must meet strict technical and regulatory criteria:

  • Electrical contractors: Registered with ECSA, ECA(SA), or Department of Labour
  • Plumbing contractors: Registered with the PIRB
  • Minimum 3–5 years of company experience in commercial facility maintenance
  • Valid SARS Tax Compliance PIN
  • Active registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
  • B-BBEE Certificate or sworn affidavit
  • Completed SBD 4 (Bidder’s Disclosure) form

Key technical staff must hold Trade Test certifications and demonstrate minimum 5 years of hands-on experience.

Evaluation Criteria: Functionality, Price, and B-BBEE

Quotations will be assessed using a three-pillar evaluation:

  • Functionality: Technical capability, staffing, methodology, and past performance
  • Price: Competitive, transparent, and itemised costing (VAT-inclusive)
  • B-BBEE Status: Points awarded for Black, women, youth, and disability ownership

Only compliant, responsive, and fully documented submissions will be considered. Air Chefs reserves the right to request clarifications or conduct site verifications.
